Dear Friends,

Even as we hit 'send' on this email we are hastily packing our suitcases and tying up loose ends at work for a two week trip to Australia.

This trip was decided very much at the last minute, but we are extremely glad to be taking it. We will be spending two weeks with Matt's family in Sydney, particularly with his Mum, Sandra, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

Matt's sister Julia has also flown in from abroad, so we will have the whole family together for support as Sandra goes through the first round of chemotherapy, starting on 24th March. We haven't seen Julia for several years - so it will be great to have everyone together again!!

Please be keeping Sandra in your thoughts, particularly for the pain and discomfort caused by both the cancer symptoms and the chemo side-effects. We will let you how the trip goes upon our return. We apologise that during such a quick trip we're not likely to catch up with many people. We know you'll understand!
